Affiliate disclosure
Draft — under review. This page will be checked before Homeling launches.
The short version
- Homeling may earn a commission when you buy something through some of the links it shows you.
- Those links are always marked “Paid link”, and a commission never changes what Homeling recommends.
- No paid links are live yet. This website has none.
How Homeling picks what to show you
When you ask Homeling for something to buy or a place to go, it finds the best matches first, on their merits. The part of Homeling that chooses doesn't know which stores pay commissions. Stores that do are only ever added after the ordinary results, never ahead of them, and Homeling shows its picks in the order it chose them.
How you can tell
A link that can earn a commission carries a Paid link label, and the suggestions it appears with end with this line: “Homeling may earn a commission from paid links. It never changes what we recommend.” If the store has its own disclosure, Homeling shows it too.
What the store learns
A paid link is only made when you click it, and it opens in your own browser. Homeling tells the store that you came from Homeling and nothing else about you: not your name, your conversation or what else you looked at.
It doesn't push you to buy
- Reading your email never turns into shopping. Homeling won't look for things to buy in a conversation about your email unless you ask it to shop.
- If an outfit suggestion notices something missing from your closet, Homeling won't go looking for it to buy unless you ask.
- Work Homeling does for you overnight never includes paid links.
Which stores
We're applying to affiliate programs now. Until they're active, Homeling shows no paid links. Once they are, this page will name the programs and stores we work with. These commissions help pay for Homeling.
More detail
How Homeling recommends things shows a real example, and how paid links work explains what happens when you click one.
